The essentials
Free WiFi is available in all rooms and throughout the house, free private parking is available on site without reservation and there is an electric vehicle charging station for guests arriving in an EV. The whole property is smoke-free with a designated smoking area outdoors, and non-smoking, soundproofed, carpeted and heated rooms are standard. Smoke alarms and key access provide peace of mind, and hypoallergenic rooms can be arranged on request.
Kitchen, breakfast and dining
Alongside the private kitchen in each suite, guests can use a shared kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine, kitchenware, cleaning products and a dining table. Breakfast provisions are included and often feature fresh eggs from the property's own chickens, breakfast can be taken in the room, and special diet meals can be prepared on request. Wine and champagne are available for an additional charge, and grocery deliveries can be arranged.
Outdoors and views
The 8.5 acre property includes mature gardens, a sun deck, terrace, patio, picnic area, outdoor furniture and an outdoor dining area, with river, garden and landmark mountain views from the house. Five acres are QE2 protected rainforest with the Te Henui stream running through it, and walking tours, hiking and a golf course within 3 km are all close at hand. A spa lounge and relaxation area is available for quiet time indoors.
Comfort in your room
Each room is supplied with linens, towels, free toiletries, a hairdryer, a wardrobe or walk-in closet, a socket near the bed, electric blankets, a fan, ironing facilities and a private bathroom with a bath or shower, toilet, additional toilet and toilet paper. Entertainment includes a flat-screen TV with streaming services, satellite or cable channels, a radio and a CD player, plus board games and puzzles for slower evenings.
Service and arrival
Private check-in and check-out, express check-in and check-out, baggage storage and invoices on request keep arrival and departure straightforward. A laundry service is available, an airport shuttle and a general shuttle service can be arranged for an additional charge, and a free pickup or drop-off to the North Egmont visitor centre is offered to guests walking the Pouakai track. English and Polish are spoken.
Families and accessibility
Family rooms, board games and puzzles make the retreat comfortable for families, and children of all ages are welcome. Please note that the upper floors are accessible by stairs only, while the Suite with Sea View is located entirely on the ground floor.
