What are the check-in and check-out times?+
Check-in is from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM and check-out is from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Please let the property know your expected arrival time in advance, either in the special requests box when booking or by contacting George directly.
Is breakfast served?+
Yes. Breakfast provisions are included and served self-service in the well-equipped kitchen, so you can eat whenever suits you. Fresh eggs from the property's own chickens are often part of it, breakfast can be taken in the room and special diet meals can be prepared on request.
Is parking available?+
Free private parking is available on site and no reservation is needed. There is also an electric vehicle charging station for guests.
Is there an airport shuttle?+
Yes, an airport shuttle and a general shuttle service can be arranged for an additional charge. There is also a free pickup and drop-off service to the North Egmont visitor centre for guests walking the Pouakai track.
Is there a swimming pool, restaurant or spa?+
There is no swimming pool and no restaurant on site, but there is a spa lounge and relaxation area, and both suites have a fully equipped private kitchen. Pikopiko Eatery and Quails Nest Eatery are about 13 km away.
Do the rooms have a private bathroom and a balcony?+
Both suites have a private bathroom. The Suite with Sea View has a balcony, terrace and patio, and the Suite with Mountain View has a patio with outdoor furniture.
What is the WiFi policy?+
WiFi is available in all rooms and throughout the property, and it is free of charge.
Are pets allowed?+
Pets are not allowed at the property.
Are children welcome and are extra beds available?+
Children of all ages are welcome and family rooms are available. An extra bed for guests aged 12 and over costs NZD 15 per person, per night, on request and subject to availability. There are no cribs available.
How far is the property from the centre of New Plymouth?+
The centre of New Plymouth is about 17 km away, roughly a twenty minute drive, and New Plymouth Airport is 28 km away.
What is there to do at the retreat?+
The property covers 8.5 acres, five of which are QE2 protected rainforest with the Te Henui stream and nature walks running through it. The Pouakai track starts 500 m up the road, and hiking, walking tours, gardens, a sun deck, picnic areas and a golf course within 3 km are all close by.
How do I pay?+
Debit card and cash are accepted. Cancellation and prepayment conditions depend on the option you choose, so check the conditions shown for your dates when you book.
